WHAT IS SAT?
The SAT is an entrance exam used by most colleges and universities to make admissions decisions. The SAT is a multiple-choice, pencil-and-paper test created and administered by the College Board.
The purpose of the SAT is to measure a high school student’s readiness for college, and provide colleges with one common data point that can be used to compare all applicants. College admissions officers will review standardized test scores alongside your high school GPA, the classes you took in high school, letters of recommendation from teachers or mentors, extracurricular activities, admissions interviews, and personal essays. How important SAT scores are in the college application process varies from school to school.
WHEN SHOULD I TAKE THE SAT?
In India, SAT / ACT is taken mostly by students in their 11th or 12th Class. It’s important to leave time to re-take the test if you need to raise your score before you apply to college. The SAT exam is offered every year in August, October, November, December, March, May, and June. ELIGIBILITY FOR TAKING SAT EXAM
The College Board, which is the conducting body of the SAT has not laid down any specific SAT eligibility criteria for students wanting to appear for the SAT exam.
- Age Limit to Appear for SAT
There is no minimum or maximum age criteria fixed for students wanting to appear for the exam. General studies have shown that students belonging to the age group of 17 to 19 are among the highest to appear for SAT.
- How many times can you take SAT exams?
There are no restrictions set by the College Board, students can take the SAT exam as many times as they want.
- What is the educational eligibility criteria for SAT?
There are no specific eligibility criteria set by the College Board, the body that conducts and manages the SAT exam. However, it is generally taken by students who are in class 11th or 12th and are planning for their Undergrad or Bachelor studies from abroad.
